He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Ward and Mary Jane Ward (Matthew); his wife Madeline Ward (Cloud); his granddaughter Tanisha Ward; and his siblings, Thomas Ward, Patrick Ward, Freeman Ward and Irene Paul.
He is survived by: his sons, John Melvin Ward (Stacey Simon) of Eel Ground and Joseph Marcel Thibodeau (Margaret) of Eel Ground; his stepchildren, Theresa Cloud, Frank Cloud and John Clayton Cloud; his siblings, Albert Ward, Joseph Ward, Wilfred Ward, Anthony Ward, Raymond Ward, Philomene Ward, Mary Jane Simonson, Barbara Isaac, Mary Ann Ward and Lucy Martin; his grandchildren, Christine Thibodeau and Roger Thibodeau; and his great grandchildren, Abigail and Samuel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
