He was predeceased by: his wife Ghislaine Côté (Laforest); and his son Roland Poitras. He is survived by: his children, Jonathan Laforest (Marjy) of Saint-Jacques and Crystal Côté of Drummond; his grandchild Jayden; and his siblings, Donald (Linda), Rino (Vicki) of Grand Falls, Danny (Carole) of Drummond, Ricky (Stephanie Allen) and Paula (Pierre Larrivée) of Moncton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
