He is survived by: his wife Murielle; his children, Kevin Ruest (Cindy Comeau) of Sainte-Marie, Cindy Lynne Ruest (Trevor Budd) of St. Andrews and Kelly Bender (Rob) of Texas City, TX; his grandson Shawn Bender; his siblings, Maurice Ruest of Edmundston, Donata Beaulieu of Grand Falls, Leola Masse (Ray) of Presque Isle, Marilyn Butler (Jim) of Maine, Ronald Ruest (Nancy) of Saint-Basile, Micheline Maillet (Jean Bernard) of Memramcook, Jeanita Caron (Jean-Louis) of Dieppe and Real Ruest (Rita) of Siegas; and his mother-in-law Esmay Gauvin (late Bertin). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
