He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara; his parents, Wilfred and Christina; and his brother Daniel. He is survived by: his children, Kelly Stairs (Kevin), Chris Stairs (Lynn) and Heather Roberts; his grandchildren, Daniel Stairs (Emma) and Charly Roberts; his great grandchildren, Kylee and Nora Stairs; and his siblings, Valerie Black (Gordon) and Brent Stairs (Andrea).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the York Funeral Home (302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton, NB E3A5K2). A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Douglas Baptist Church (1012 NB-105, Douglas, NB E3G7J4).
