He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvard Hawkins and Vera Hawkins (Brewer); his wife Joan Hawkins (Sharp); his sister Eileen Williams; and his siblings-in-law, Arlene Goguen (Sharp), Irvine Williams and John Torunski.

He is survived by: his children, Brent Hawkins (Elva) and Penny Pringle (Ralph); his grandchildren, Melissa Bradley (Cody), Christina Proulx (Jon), Shane Pringle (Pammy) and Cara Pringle (Lynnsey); his great grandchildren, Emmerson, Everly Bradley, Cooper, Kinley Pringle, Marleigh, Chase Pringle and Mackenzie Proulx; his sister Maxine Torunski; and his brothers-in-law, Dale Sharp (Eldena), Bill Sharp (Linda) and Jerry Goguen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
