He was predeceased by: his parents, Camille Chiasson and Marguerite Chiasson (Richardson); his former wife Lorraine; his children, Gérald and Roger; and his granddaughter Katherine Chiasson.

He is survived by: his children, Thérèse Cavanaugh (George) of LaPlante, Diane Chiasson (Jacques Landry) of Beresford, Betty Fournier (Doris), Stella Chiasson (Réal Savoie) of Beresford, Lorraine Chiasson, Clément (Albert) of Terrebonne, QC and Jason; and his sister Doreen Trépannier of Kitchener, ON. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 10 great–grandchildren, three great–great–grandchildren and by several nephews and nieces.
