She is survived by: her son Dale Ellis (Heather); her grandchildren, Nadine Charest (Eric), Edgar Ellis (Tabitha), Jonathan King (Allison), Katrina Ellis Cannon (Michael) and Michael King (Julie); her great grandchildren, Mitchell, Matthew, Andrew, James and Emily; her siblings, Eileen Jagoe (Arthur), Lela Branch (Percy) and Dave Scott (late Mary); and her sisters-in-law, Elna Scott (late Rodney) and Bernice Scott (late Earl).

According to her wishes, her body has been donated to Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation.
