He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth McCleary and Barbara McCleary (Urquhart); and his siblings, Kathy Breiter, Kenneth, Charles and Ronald McCleary.

He is survived by: his wife Lorna (Jensen); his children, Ryan (Whitney Gallen), Jennifer Ashton (Philip) and Christina McCleary; his siblings, Russell McCleary, Louise Lavoie (George Gamble) and Darline Cogswell (Ken); and his grandchildren, Jordan Ashton, Dreyden Young, Jace McCleary-Lewis and Ivy McCleary. He is also survived by one niece and 5 nephews.
