He was predeceased by: his parents, Sadie McNeill and Tyne McNeill; his birth mother Rose Smith; his brothers, John and Brian Smith; his uncle Burns Smith; and his brother-in-law Harry Barton.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Murray (Peggy); his son Ricky (Melanie) of Whitecourt, AB; his stepdaughters, Shannon Duncan (Bob) of Moncton, NB and Chrissy Madore (Mearle) of Slave Lake, AB; his grandchildren, Morgan Legere (Isaak) of Coverdale, NB, Darrell Madore (Gwen) of Wabasca, AB, Dallas Madore (Kennedy Lukan) of Slave Lake, AB, Danielle Madore of Slave Lake, AB, Sydney of Whitecourt, AB and Brody Bizeau of Whitecourt, AB; his great grandchildren, Paisley Madore, Kaydryn Alook, Oakley Madore and Taytum Madore; his siblings, Lynn Barton, Beverly Smith (Linda) of Minto and Greg Smith (Carol) of Minto; his niece Rosalie Smith; and his sister-in-law Donna Smith. He is also survived by many extended family and friends, nieces, nephews and special friends.
