He was predeceased by: his mother Anna (Kirkpatrick); his grandparents, Leland, Ruby Kirkpatrick, Roy and Dolly Gillett; and his pet Benji.

He is survived by: his father George Gillett; and his siblings, Kathy Johnston (Roy), Brenda Gillett, Pam Shannon, Sherry Gillett and Ricky Gillett (Gail). He is also survived by aunts, one uncle, cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
