He was predeceased by: his father Delbert Hayes; his siblings, Danny, Valerie and Jean; his grandparents, Warren, Iola Hayes (Boyd), Joe and Bernice Mason (Kelly); and his granddaughter Gabrielle McMinniman.
He is survived by: his mother Connie Hayes (Mason) of Carsonville; his wife Arletta Long Hayes of Sussex; his siblings, Debbie Benson (Tony) of Smiths Creek, Sharon Townsend (Blair Drake) of Fredericton, Everett (Dale) of Carsonville, Thelma Folkins (Cecil) of Mount Middleton, Heather Dalling (Gregg) of Chambers Settlement and David (Erin) of Apohaqui; his sister-in-law Connie McGinnis-Hayes of Southfield; his sons, Tony (Bernice) of Toronto, Kevin (Tammy McGregor) of Texas and Matthew McMinniman of Toronto; his stepsons, Jared Simpson (Missy) of Walker Settlement and Peter Simpson (Donica) of Shilo, Manitoba; his grandchildren, Taylor, Alexandra, Jordan, Talia, Cruz, Jagg, Austin, Nicholas and Griffin McMinniman; his stepgrandchildren, Brooklyn, Paige and Ricky; his great grandchildren, Oliver McMinniman, Dawson Therrien-Besito and Lyla-Rain McMinniman; his aunt Ann Smit; and his uncles, John, Fred Mason (Shirley) and Rev. Doug Cosman. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
