He was predeceased by: his parents, Melburn Hanson and Mary Green; his wife Shirley Anne Hanson (Sullivan); his children, Penny Hanson and Cecil Hanson; his siblings, Joan Gartside and Robert Hanson; and his stepmother Grace Hanson (Smyth).
He is survived by: his children, Cindy McLaughlin (Carl) of Perth-Andover, NB, Jeannie Hanson (Janet) of Plaster Rock, NB, Murray L. Hanson (Anna) of Perth-Andover, NB and Kenneth Hanson of Carlingford, NB; his grandchildren, Kelly Flanders, Luke McLaughlin, Dayna McLaughlin and Amanda Flaherty; his great grandchildren, Riley Flanders and Denver McLaughlin; and his siblings, Sylvia Kilpatrick (Dawson) of Burlington, ON, Linda Senechal (Gene) of Fort Fairfield, ME, Doris DeMerchant of Carlingford, NB, Dale Hanson (Lorraine) of Gladwyn, NB and Larry Hanson (Linda) of Rowena, NB. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
