He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Richard and Devina Richard (Cormier) of Cap-Pelé; his wife Yvonne Goguen; his children, Betty and Guy; and his siblings, Hervé, Valérie, Adélard, Aurore and Lorraine.

He is survived by: his children, Bernard (Annie Duguay), Claude, Maria (late André LeBlanc) and Angèle; his grandchildren, Mathieu, Nathanaël, Natasha, Timothée, Simon, Patrice, Gabrielle and Madeleine; his great grandchildren, Samuel, Nicholas, François, Patrick, Lilya, Stella, Xavier, Maggie, Matisse, Alexandre and Mélodie; and his siblings, Laurie, Euloge, Léon and Juliette.

In memory of Joseph, a donation to the Chevaliers Colomb-Pépère lunch box (Cap-Pelé) or to the Ste-Thérèse d'Avila parish would be appreciated.
