He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Dewar and Marguerita Dewar (Sullivan); his siblings, Dave, Roland (Butch), Ken, Billy, Viola Smith and Shirley Thompson; and his son-in-law John Fanjoy.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Dewar (Jill) of Ottawa, Nancy Flanagan (Bryant) of Moncton, Carol Fanjoy and Tim Dewar (Marjorie) of Ottawa; his grandchildren, Sarah (Rob), Shane (Andrea) of Ottawa, Eric (Johanna) and Amy (Gerald) of Moncton; his great grandchildren, Colin, Fiona, Keiran Cummings of Ottawa, Allison, Shannon Dewar of Ottawa, Sam, Ava Flanagan of Moncton, Thomas and Lexi Burke of Moncton; and his sister Betty McAvera of Arizona. He is also survived by sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held.
