Shirley Methot Obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear mother Mrs. Shirley Barnaby-Methot.

Shirley passed away peacefully, at the age of 73 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 5, 2022. Shirley is predeceased by her husband Cormet, her parents and her siblings, Dorothy, Russel, Lester and Nora.

She is survived by her two sons, Kevin (April) and Jody, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her sister Margret Jerome and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was born and raised in Listuguj. She married her beloved husband at a very young age and they began their family and life adventures together. Shirley and Cormet travelled within Canada and the United States of America together, as a young family, as Cormet worked as a brick-layer. Shirley loved daily early morning drives to get her Tim Horton's Coffee and drive around our communities for hours, checking everything out and making sure things were good. Shirley lived a life of simplicity, she didn't want for much anything. Although, she loved to change her home décor often. Shirley loved deeply, in her own way. Shirley enjoyed being around people especially during the last few years.

She will certainly be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Rest in peace our beautiful mother, you are once again your reunited with dad and we believe the two of you are already driving around and watching over us.

A celebration of life will be held at Maher's Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 3:00 pm. Due to covid restrictions only those fully vaccinated can attend to a maximum of 75 people, masks and social distancing must be respected.
