She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary McCaffrey (Holleran) and Thomas McCaffrey; her husband Thomas W. Gilbert; and her siblings, Eleanor Bryzak, Arthur and Gerald McCaffrey.

She is survived by: her children, Catherine Bettle (Ken), George Gilbert, Tim Gilbert (Gisele), Gregory Gilbert (Linda), Malcolm Gilbert (Melisa), Eleanor Lindsay (Ted), Gerard Gilbert (Sharon), Tony Gilbert (Monica), Mary Cozzarini (Elio), Patricia Russell (Harold), Charles Gilbert, Anne Gilbert (Blaine) and Susan Bouwer (Neil). She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
