He was predeceased by: his parents, Cécime Bastarache and Adeline Bastarache (Maillet); his grandson Daniel; and his siblings, Imelda, Norma, Gerard, Eric and René.

He is survived by: his wife Rita Bastarache (Bernard); his daughters, Paulette Belliveau (Albert) of Saint-Paul, Dianne Gaudet (Edgar) of Halifax and Bernice DeBelie of Dartmouth; and his grandchildren, Michel, Natalie, Marc and Mathieu. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
