He was predeceased by: his parents, Alyre Cormier and Madeleine Cormier (Robichaud); and his siblings, Anita, Adelard and Laurie.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Cormier (Richard); his children, Ginette Cormier (Bernard LeBlanc) of Dieppe, Monique Richard (Ronald), Micheline Cormier (Eric Landry) of Moncton, Denise Léger (Eugène) and Paul-Emile (Suzanne) of Cocagne; his grandchildren, Sylvie, Nicole and Rémi; his great grandchildren, Joël, Véronique, Janie and Alexi; his siblings, Doris Fewer, Léona LeBlanc (Gerard), Carmella Cormier of Moncton, Odette Cormier, Berthe Cormier of Saint-Grégoire and Belita Morton of Florida; and his nephew Normand of Saint-Grégoire.

In Emile's memory, donations may be made to the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche, New Brunswick Lung Association or to the NB Diabetes Association.
