It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garfield Dwight Hawkes of Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, who passed away on January 23, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Hawkes and Dorothy Hawkes (Hatheway); and his siblings, Robert, James and Sheila.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Hawkes (Leavitt) of Blacks Harbour, NB; his children, Shelly (Scott) of Carlingford, NB, Dwight (Jacob) of Saint John, NB, Samantha (Jared) of Blacks Harbour, NB and Cassandra of Blacks Harbour, NB; his grandchildren, Martina, Sarah-Lee (Josh), Austin, Gabrielle and Connor; his great grandchildren, Brycen, Jade, Julia, Brayden, Brandi and Aiden; his siblings, Larry (Ernestine), Albert (Mona) and Linda Mean (Ricky); and his sister-in-law Shirley Hawkes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In Garfield's memory, donations to a charity of the, donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
