He was predeceased by: his parent Francis Briand. He is survived by: his spouse Irene Briand (Chamberlain); his parent Margaret Briand (Powell); his daughters, Alanna of Antigonish, NS, Maureen Brown (Dave) and Colleen (Russell Weller); his stepchildren, Natacha Bryanton and Harry Bryanton; his grandchildren, Kayla Morris, John Edmund Briand, Euan Doyle and Aiden Doyle; and also Beresford.
