He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred DeSilva and Stella DeSilva (Laroque); and his siblings, Edgar DeSilva (Simone), Dora, Theresa DeGrace (Victor), Carmaline Gordon (Joe), Sandra Blais (Pierre), Delia Aubie (Arther) and Alvin DeSilva (Lucille).

He is survived by: his close friend Fernande Gignac; his daughter Karen DeSilva (Bruno Roy) of Bathurst; his grandson Brandon; and his brothers, James DeSilva of Cap Bateau and Denis DeSilva of Quebec. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
