He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorne McKinnon and Elva McKinnon (Campbell). He is survived by: his wife Sharon (Branch); his children, Natalie Fisher (John) of Bathurst and Jeffrey McKinnon (Katria) of Moncton; his grandsons, Carson and Matthew McKinnon of Moncton; his siblings, Hugh of New Richmond, QC and Lorna Jansson (Kaj) of Bathurst; and his nieces and nephews, Courtney, Meaghan, Mauryah, Kathleen, Ryan, Neil, Heather, Heidi, Mitzie and Molly.
