He was predeceased by: his parents, John Taylor Barr and Cecilia Barr (McKettrick); his siblings, Ronald and Sandra; and his father-in-law John Kearsey.

He is survived by: his wife Joanne Patricia Kearsey; his brother-in-law Phillippe Couture; his niece Kristina Couture (Kevin Lebeau); and his great-nephew Kearsey Lebeau of Beresford.
