He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Theodor Adoloph Nickum and Margret Helena Nickum; his wife Joanne Melanson Nickum; his child Kyle Nickum (Kimberly White); his granddaughter Alice Nickum; his sisters, Susan Nickum (Daniel Kenny) and Karen Nickum; his nieces and nephews, Lyndsey, Kristen and Erin; and his stepchildren, Robin (Amanda), Craig and Matthew Hills. He was also cherished by several uncles, aunts and cousins.
