It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melva Jean Parker of Back Bay, New Brunswick, born in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, who passed away on August 26, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Glendon Clarance Parker of Back Bay, NB; her parents, Fredrick Hanley and Bessie Hanley; her son Norman Parker; and her siblings, Donald Hanley, Judy Hanley and Geraldine Patterson.

She is survived by: her children, Tony Parker of Back Bay, NB, Maryann Cormier (Paul) of Bouctouche, NB, Clarence Parker (Susan) of Limekiln, NB and Mike Dejong of Peterborough, ON; and her siblings, Fred Hanley Jr. of Back Bay, NB, Ernest Hanley of Back Bay, NB, Larry Hanley (Carole) of Back Bay, NB, Rev. Vincent Hanley (Mary) of Pictou, NS, Linda Barwell of Back Bay, NB, Josephine Patterson (Wesley) of Back Bay, NB, Dora McCurdy of Back Bay, NB, Iona Thompson of St. George, NB and Leona MacDonald (Burton) of Kouchibouguac, NB. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
