He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hamilton and Martha Hamilton (Parish); his siblings, Russell, Cecil, Charlie, John, Enoch, Ira, Alice, Philip, Anna and Inez; and his son Donald Hamilton (Donny).
He is survived by: his wife June (Rutherford); his children, Elwin Hamilton (Cindy Milner), Kenny Hamilton (Wanda) and Patti Nicholson (Jody); his daughter-in-law Ferne Hamilton; his grandchildren, Holly Green (Jason), Elwin Jr. Hamilton (Tara), Savanah Fredericks (Corey), Shawn Hamilton (Chelsey), Alysa McAllister and Josh Hamilton (Casey Gaunce); his great grandchildren, Allie, Chloe, Carter Green, Lucas, Brody Hamilton, Jack, Denver, Max Fredericks, Cali-Rae, Shae-Lynn Hamilton, Addison, Aurora McAllister and Florence Hamilton; and his sisters, Doris Laskey and Irene Bradley.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Walter's memory be made to the Avondale Cemetery Fund.
