He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Harper and Ida Harper (O'Blenis); his siblings, Frank and Leona; and his sister-in-law Valerie (McLeod).

He is survived by: his wife Ann Harper (Howatt); his daughter Alicia (Cyrus); his grandsons, Ayden and Ryder of Prince George, B. C.; his brothers, Ronald (Valerie) and Paul (Rose); his siblings-in-law, Stephanie and Kent Howatt (Susan); and his in-laws, Charles and Pauline Howatt. He is also survived by several nieces and, nephews.
