He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gates and Viola Gates; and his wife Stella Basisty. He is survived by: his sisters, Brenda and Rhonda; his brother-in-law Eddie; and his nieces, Alanna, Katlyn, Taralyn and Jacklyn. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
