He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred and Albert; his father-in-law Morris Berthelette; his sister-in-law Debbie McPhee; and his wife Michelle.

He is survived by: his children, Dr. Sean McPhee and Dr. Stacy McPhee; his son-in-law Dr. Sourabh Maiti; his siblings, Gerard (Nicole), Ron (Rolande), David, John (Diana) and Deb (Chuck); his nieces and nephews, Cory, Nadine, Christophe, Eric, Nicholas, Rick, Jason, Ryan and Heather; his mother-in-law Agnes Berthelette; his brothers-in-law, Jerome (Carmen), Les (Shannon) and Lionel (Tracey); his nieces, Veronica and Courtney; and his son Paul Simon.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
