She was predeceased by: her parents, David R. Sawatzky and Marie Sawatzky (Klassen); her son Vernon James; her daughter-in-law Lora Braun; and her siblings, Abe Enns, Rudy, Alma Sawatzky (Janzen), Art Sawatzky, Henry, Anne Marie Bock (Sawatzky), Anne Sawatzky (Martens) and Pearl Sawatzky.

She is survived by: her former spouse Lora Braun; her husband Jacob F. Pauls; her children, Vera Pauls and Gerald Pauls; her grandsons, Simon Pauls and Rowan Braun; her siblings, Verna Enns (Sawatzky), Leona Sawatzky (Penner), Ron Sawatzky, Harvey and Margaret Sawatzky (Penner); and also Jacob Pauls. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
