He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria of Conceicao Ferreira and Manuel DeSousa; his siblings, Manuel DeSousa and Maria Dos Anjos DeSousa; his brothers-in-law, Edmundo Costa and Raul Rodrigues; and his son-in-law Claudio Raposo.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Eduarda; his children, Nelia (Tony), Maria (Carlos), Natalie (late Claudio) and Valdemiro; his grandchildren, Robert (Melissa), Richard (Amanda), Kevin (Wendy), Jennifer (Anthony), Melanie (Adam), Cynthia, Kimberly, Rachel and Brendon; his great grandchildren, Jordan, Saint, Jessica, Hailey, Chase, Cruze and Vasco; and his sister Gilda. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
