He was predeceased by: his parents, Heinrich Strempler and Melita Strempler (Krueger); his wife Elizabeth Neufeld of Steinbach; his siblings, Kurt and Ingrid Cornies; his sister-in-law Maggie Strempler; his sister Ruth (Art Janz); his sisters-in-law, Neta (Pete Neufeld), Helen (Cornie Friesen), Margaret (Jakob Dyck) and Tina Hildebrand; his nephews, Pete Neufeld, Henry Neufeld, Heinz Dyck and Menno Friesen; and his niece Margaret Fedrau.
He is survived by: his daughter Damaris (Guenter); his grandchildren, Hilde, Dave, Nichole (Nathan), Rudy and Renee (Jordan); his brothers, Erwin (George Epp) and Gerry (Irene); and his brothers-in-law, Alf Cornies and Abe Hildebrand. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
