He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred "Cerce" and Eva Taplin; and his brothers, Orv and Ray. He is survived by: his wife Audrey; his children, Ken (Michelle) and Faye (Peter); his grandchildren, Meagan (Jeremiah), Stefania (Brent), Natalina, Gerardo and Joe; his great grandchild Elia; his brothers, Don (Muriel), Fred (Elaine) and Ken (Sharon); and his siblings-in-law, Shirl, Elza and Edward (Marilynn). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
