He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack McGillvray and Viola McGillvray; his sisters, Marlene (Gunn), Loretta (Dixson), Hazel (Schmidt), Annie and Janice McGillvray; and his wife Janet.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jacky (Cody Appleyard), Carly (Chad Leganchuk), Hayden, Jules Gilliard, Kaliessa McGillvray, Wesley and Tom Palmer; and his great grandchildren, Ryan, Madi Appleyard, Aubree Lockhart, Brooklyn and Sawyer Leganchuk.
