He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie (Ledoyen) and Frank; his parents-in-law, Hector and Maria Temmerman; and his brothers-in-law, Maurice Maes, Frank Temmerman, Lawrence Delichte and Phil Sarrasin.

He is survived by: his wife Zulma; his children, Theresa Collette (Rheal), Catherine Lyder (David) and Michael Cherlet (Janice); his grandchildren, Rachael O'Callaghan (Eric), Liana Pekrul (Michael), Liam, Genevieve Lyder, Ben, Laura, Rosa and Ella Cherlet; his great grandchildren, Aria, Mia O'Callaghan and Uli Pekrul; his brothers, Bob Cherlet (Jeanette) and Ray Cherlet (Joyce); his siblings-in-law, Anna Maes-Sarrasin, Yvonne Delichte, Janice Temmerman and Raymond Temmerman (Fenella); and his friends, Donuts, Tim and Chicken Chef. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
