She was predeceased by: her husband George; her brother Charlie (Velma); her parents, John Henry and Alexa Slater; and also, Stewart Thexton (Evelyn), Bruce Thexton (Fern), Lillian Edmonds (Bob), Fern Young (Del), Mae Zaroski (Cliff) and Islay Hobson (Bill).
She is survived by: her nieces, Carol Schaeffer, Heather Corbett (Joe), Jean Rootsaert (Ed), Joan Holliston (Dean) and Erin Cosentino (Mike); her nephew Wayne Thexton (Carole) of Nanaimo, B. C.; and also, Campbell Gibb, Bryan, Peter, Mark, Christopher Rootsaert and Craig Cosentino.
In 2006 Catherine gave a land donation to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, in George's memory, which reflected their lifelong appreciation of nature.
