He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob H. Peters and Maria Peters; his stepmother Tina Peters; his siblings, Edmar, Henry, Ert (Shirley), Gil, Annie (Albert Reimer), Tina (Elmer Reimer), Aurelia (Menno Kroeker) and Marie (Art Neufeld); and his stepsister Irene.

He is survived by: his wife Rose; his children, Jane (Ken Duerksen), Alan (Caroline Pon) and Jacqueline (Alex Peters); his sister Ellen (Ed Penner); his stepsisters, Leona and Luella; his sisters-in-law, Linda (Henry) and Anne (Gil); his grandchildren, Angela, John, Kirk, Rowan, Bronwyn, Kadri, Raina, Anya and Hannah; his family Steinbach; his cousins, Johnny and Walter Kehler; and his brother-in-law Ed Penner. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and great-grandchildren.
