She was predeceased by: her husband Claude; her great grandchild Addison; her parents, George Bitz and Lydia Bitz; her stepfather Tony Bitz; and her siblings, Henry, Georgina, Dorothy and Margaret.
She is survived by: her children, Doug, Jim (Colleen), Dan (Elaine), Leona (Ken Doerksen) and Barb (Kyle Mulvaney); and her siblings, Tom, Jim and Verna (Steve). She is also survived by 19 Grandchildren, two step-granddaughters, and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Birchwood Funeral Chapel (162 MB-52, Steinbach, MB R5G 1M1).
If so desired, donations in Bernice's memory may be made to World Vision, the Alzheimer Society, or The INN a shelter being built in Steinbach. Mom's concern and charity was always for those who lived in poverty locally as well as globally.
