He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Norma (David) and Reg; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Tyrone), Cory (Stephanie), Chris (Myra) and Jonathan (Erin); his great grandchildren, Samuel and Sadie; his parents, Abe Giesbrecht and Katherine Giesbrecht; and his wife Marie.

Peter kept a brochure from Operation Smile on his living room table for many months, saying it was his favourite charity and how sweet the little ones are that need these surgeries.
