He was predeceased by: his son Jamie; his parents, John and Rose; his parents-in-law, Murray and Evelyn McAulay; and his nephew Kyle Flett.

He is survived by: his sons, Michael (Kirsten) and Ron (Amanda); his daughter-in-law Tammy; his siblings, Colleen Girling (Ralph) and Ken (Holly); and also Ron. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
