He was predeceased by: his wife Doreen; his parents, George Thomas Whitelam and Mary Ellen Whitelam; and his siblings, Tom and Elaine Beattie.

He is survived by: his sons, Brian, Keith of Libau, MB, Ken (Deb) of Denver and Colorado; his granddaughters, Carrie of New York, NY, Kalie and Kaitlin of Selkirk, MB.; his sister Jean Gatland (Roy); and his sister-in-law Maeola Whitelam. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
