He was predeceased by: his son Reil; his parents, Mina (Jones) and Lawrence Smith (Happy); his brothers, Raymond and Wendell; and his uncles, Harold and Gus.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ashley, Leanne and Tara; his adoptive son Terrence Starlight; his close friend Carla; his siblings, Bev, Glenda, Marlene, Deborah (Carlos), Clarence and Kelvin; his adoptive son Joey; his friend Ruben Bunn; his cousins, Nish Sinclair and Greg Sinclair; and his brothers, Emery Smith, Carl Smith (Tandy) and Marvin Smith (Irene).
