He was predeceased by: his wife Helena Truffyn; his parents, Alvin and Ethel; his brothers, Tom (Mavis) and Don (Bonnie); his siblings-in-law, Michael, John, Bill Truffyn (Mary), Mary Perry (Frank), Verna Brighter (Les), Edith Cheropita (Eli), Ruby Keens (Jack), Hector Topham, George Paulenko, Valerie Kines and Jayne Kines; his daughter-in-law Janice Dixon; and his nephew Allan Brighter.
He is survived by: his son Larry; his friends, Garry, Barb Gaber, Larry and Brandt; his children, Clare (Leah Kines) and Michele Kines (Ron McConnell); his grandchildren, Brandt, Travis and Hilary Kines; his daughter-in-law Lisa Pierce; his brother Wayne (Deva Kines); and his sisters-in-law, Kate Topham and Shirley Paulenko. He is also survived by cousins, and numerous well-loved nieces and nephews.
