He was predeceased by: his wife Laurie; his parents, Sean Smith and Olive Smith; his parents-in-law, Blythe and Bernie Bjornson; his brothers-in-law, Rick Lancaster, John Noton and Dan Bjornson; and his nephew Rorie Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Megan Sloik (Rich) and Karina Hill (Trevor); his grandchildren, Brooke, Bree, Rhett and Maisie; and his siblings, Margo, Eileen, Barry, Devon, Brendon, Shannay, Connor, Mary, Brian, Cal, Debbie, Kerry, Dawn, Alan, Marnie, Simon, Dayle, Erik and Lynne. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and special friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shane may be made to the Child and Family Services of Central Manitoba Foundation 25 3rd St. SE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 1N1 https://www.canadahelps.org A tree will be planted and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.
