He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandfather Roger Merrick; his wife Violet Benn; his sons, Delmer and Terry; his stepsons, William Benn (Vanessa) and Fredrick Acoby (Sharon); his granddaughter Creedence Smoke; his siblings, Liz, Rosalind (Orville), Hazel (Jim), Freida (Al) and Warren (Arlene); his son Roger Jr.; his granddaughter Paige Merrick; his parents, Alvin Merrick and Edna Merrick; and his siblings, Sandra, Andrea, Doug, Gerald, Reginald and Terry. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
