He was predeceased by: his parents, John Emerson and Viola Emerson; his wife Lily Emerson; his daughter Kimberly Emerson; his brother Ron Emerson; and his grandson Robert Emerson.

He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Emerson, Dwight Emerson, Raymond Peters, George Emerson and Christine Peters (Marie Peters); his grandchildren, Evan, Nathan, Taylah, Emily, Kayleen, Savannah, Isiah, Abellana, Marques, Bella, Javier and Santiago; and his great grandchildren, Arianna, Cameron, Weston, Beckett and Lila.
