He was predeceased by: his parents, Jakob Wiens and Suzanna Wiens; and his brothers, Peter and Henry. He is survived by: his wife Helene; his children, Jake, Lili (David), Anna (Scott), Elizabeth (D'Arcy) and Tina (James); and his grandchildren, Ethan, Nathaniel, Samuel, Payton, Jesse, Lucas, Aaron, Charlie, Josiah, Isabella, Kaleb and Ryley. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
