He was predeceased by: his parents, Esther Narvey and Mel Narvey; his stepmother Sooky Narvey; his stepbrother Arthur Tadman; and his sister Sandra Narvey.

He is survived by: his wife Barb Shearer; his daughter Emma Esther Narvey (Mariana); his siblings, Roberta Kravitz (Fred), Carol Hoffman and Marty Tadman (Laurelle); his mother-in-law Reta Shearer; his brothers-in-law, Don Shearer (Corie) and Jim Shearer (Marlene); and his nieces and nephews, Eli Hoffman (Adele), Shayna Hoffman (Jeremy), Esther Kravitz, Joel Kravitz, Bryan Kravitz, Jack Tadman (Leanne), Elizabeth Shearer (Cole), William Shearer (Mellissa), Caelyn Shearer and Brenden Shearer (Nicole). He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
