He was predeceased by: his daughter Andrea Marie Dobson; his parents, Claude Dobson and Mary Dobson; and his siblings-in-law, Michael, Helen Urbanowski and Ernest Urbanowski.

He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Dobson; his children, Erin Forsyth (Mark) of Dauphin and Ryan Dobson (Michelle) of Winnipeg; his grandchildren, James, Isla Forsyth, Jack and Claire Dobson; and his sister Debra White (Len).
