He was predeceased by: his daughter Laurie (Brent Dalziel); his parents, Malcolm McCannell and Catherine McCannell; his siblings, Donald McCannell (La Verne), Margaret and Elsie McCannell; his friend Monica Wiemes; his son Brad McCannell; his great grandchild Rilynn Duncalfe; and his parents-in-law, Tom, Ethel Coates, Alvin, Marg Coates, Sylvia, Glen Holmes, Joyce and Ervin Steinwandt.

He is survived by: his children, Randy (Tammy), Gary (Linda), Kevin (Carla), Heather (Rob McCutcheon) and Tim (JoAnn); his grandchildren, Karen, Heather and Laurie; his wife Frances Marie Coates; his grandchildren, Marcy (Grant Duncalfe) and Chad (Megan); his daughter Karen Strutt (Rick Kilfoyle); his grandchildren, Amber (John Rutherford), Kristen (Tyson Eckel) and Mitch (Mikayla Belhumeur); his child Ashley (Ryan Steffensen); his daughter-in-law Shirley (Neil Gobelle); his children, Taylor, Sydney, Shayna, Bailey, Hallie and Hannah; his grandchildren, Keesha, Zach, Rachelle, Shane, Brad (Lily) and Wade; and his great grandchildren, Daylan, Shayla Duncalfe, Austin, Autumn McCannell, Slade, Jayce Steffensen, Eli, Coen Eckel, Isla, Liam Rutherford, Bria Strutt and Lexi Rheault.
